People do look more attractive after a few alcholic drinks, a new study has found
Beer goggles really do exist as people are more attractive after a few alcoholic drinks, according to a study.
Research by the University of Bristol’s Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group (TARG) conducted laboratory tests to gauge whether drink changed people’s perceptions of what is attractive.
Volunteers drank either an alcoholic or non-alcoholic placebo drink and were then shown images of 20 male faces, 20 female faces and 20 landscapes.
Researchers said attractiveness ratings were higher for all three image types among the alcohol group compared to the placebo group.
The study leaders said this confirmed the beer goggle hypthesis which claims that people become more attractive to the opposite sex after a few drinks.
